Engagement Ring/Wedding Band...

Can my engagment ring be platinum and my wedding band be white gold?

Platinum eternity bands are sooooo expensive!

I think once you put them together, the metals do look different. I plan on sticking with white gold. HTHS

I agree, I tried on a white gold wedding band w/my e-ring and there is a clear difference in color.

I'm sticking with platinum. IMO, for a lifetime ring, it is worth the splurge.

i think it depends on the style of the eternity band... if the band is prong set diamonds, go for the WG!

But if the band is channel set with a lot of metal showing, you should prob go w/ the plat.

I actually had a friend that did this and I couldn't tell...but then again...I think if it was on my finger 24/7 I would notice it.

I, personally, am getting my wedding band in platinum. This is one area that's worth spending the extra money on. You will have them forever...

Remember that eternity bands usually cannot be sized... think pregnancy/weight gain...

My SIL has a platinum e-ring and a white gold band... I personaly don't like how it looks. Fortunately, DH bought me platinum for both rings.

My ering is platinum but we couldnt afford platinum for my wedding band so......right now its so new it doesnt look different but I am sure after a while it will. I had no choice though!

I have a platinum e-ring and my wedding band will be white gold. I couldn't tell the difference (it is channel set).

my engagment ring is platinum and my wedding band is white gold. You can't tell. But my wedding band is mostly matte with only a little shine and my e ring is in a knife setting. Here, see for yourself:

just so you know, gold is much softer than platinum. they both scratch though.

even titanium scratches after a while. it's just one of those things... not really avoidable.
