BM Dresses (Repost from BHB) - Please help
I had a pretty negative experience w/one of my BM's going dress 'looking' for the wedding. Basically, she didn't like anything she tried on b/c she's self conscious about everything - either it's too short, too long, too tight, not flattering, etc....I've picked six dresses that I like, and was thinking of sending the pictures of each dress to all of them, and having them pick their favorite, and then pick the majority from there.
I mentioned this to one of my other BM's, and she's like 'it's fine w/me, but each one has to try it on to make sure it fits them well and that it's suited to their body type.'
I completely understand this, but I really don't want to go through this ordeal again. It was a lot w/just one BM, now I have to go to the salon w/six of them???
Is this okay for me to do? Did you do this, and how did it turn out?
Here are the dresses that I've picked, they're for all sorts of body types, and the girls aren't really that different either.

This is exactly why I am picking the color and fabric, and letting my BMs duke out who gets to wear what. I don't care if they want a strapless, a halter, a tea-length or a gown, but they can't complain if I'm giving them to option to find a dress they like.I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I think you are giving them a lot of choices here. Nowadays, many BM dresses will flatter many body types, so I can't imagine them not finding something.
ETA:: And might I add something that will make me sound like a total Bridezilla but I'm going to say it anyway - you are doing them a favor by giving them the OPTION - having been in a many bridal parties where I was told to wear the most unflattering thing I ever saw, but you know what? I did it, and I did it with a smile because I was happy for my friend. I didn't want to give them that extra stress about stupid dresses and whether or not it made my butt look smaller. Grin and bear it girls, it goes along with accepting the BM position, IMO.

JEN! You are so right! Thanks so much. I feel so much better. I was seriously on the edge b/c of this. I seriously do not need the extra headache placed upon me. Way too many things to worry about that take priority!

LOL, I also edited out the word 'hideous' and replaced it with 'unflattering'...true, I never had a bride expect me to wear something 'hideous' so that was the incorrect word. But I've been put in very strange puffy sleeves and weird colors before but I would do it for my friends and family.Good luck hun, and just try to stay calm but speak your thoughts!
