I voted for Other- Family Restaurant. I have been there with a large crowd and they were very accomodating. Honestly, I am fine with whatever though. I am so excited to meet everyone!

I know...everytime I go to abbreviate Forest Hills as 'FH', I think everyone is going to be confused.

WedHead, thanks for doing this poll. I'm going to be away for a week as of Saturday, so whatever you ladies vote on is fine with me!

ETA: Could we please NOT do Fridays? There are so many good, nonchain restaurants in the area, and I've had some terrible experiences with that Fridays. They had trouble seating my party of 6 one night - we were with my two little nephews, and after calling ahead and being told it would be 10 minutes, we waited for over an hour, and had to explain to them that they CAN combine tables to accomodate us. They were telling us that they only had one table that holds 6 people, and it was being used.

I voted for Santa Fe Steakhouse, b/c I've been wanting to try it, but I'm really fine with anything but Fridays. I love Portofinos and also want to try the Family restaurant.

Ok, I agree with Jax re not doing Friday's. Forest Hills has some great restaurants that are all reasonably priced.

Here's a little description IMO:

Portofino's - Nice Italian restaurant (actually Giuliani sometimes comes here). Delicous food and great service. Not too pricey (entrees range from $13-$25 I would say).

Mardi Gras - Fun and festive cajun, New Orleans style restaurant. Also reasonably priced, I'd guess the same range as Portofino's. Food is good.

Friday's - I think we all know the deal with Friday's.

Sgt. Garcia's - OK Mexican food. Not comparable to 5 Burros but 5 Burros is too small. Nice variety of flavors of margaritas. Reasonably priced.

Santa Fe - Can't say - never been.

Sante Fe is a chain restaurant - it is a sort of steakhouse. I've gotten fajitas there everytime I've been. It's a bit overpriced for what it is.

I'll try Family Restaurant too - I actually live right around the corner on 73rd and have never been b/c I heard it wasn't all that good -but if you girls say it is - I trust ya!

I always go to Santa Fe Steakhouse and I think it's really good. Sort of like an Outback, but more of a mexican-y feel to it.
