NYC 2012 Olympics... bad news.

Im watching the news live from Singapore. Unfortunately NYC will NOT be hosting the 2012 Olympics.

London & Paris were the finalists...

London just won.

to be completely honest, i wasn't too into it for new york. but i'm happy for london! they seemed super excited.

imagine the traffic and congestion if it was in nyc..i know its good for commerce but what a headache to all the commuters....

Being that I lived in NYC and will be moving back soon, I was psyched at the prospect of an NYC Olympics, if any city can handle the congestion and traffic, it's NYC. But, w/o the West Side Stadium, I knew they wouldn't get it.

FH and I were like, 'we should go to London for the Olympics.' and then we realized we'd be married for 6 years by then,I'd be 31 years old and probably have a couple kids...How weird is that!!!?!?!?

i know ....but i have to say although it would have been awesome to go to the olympics beucase i dont see my self flying out of the country to go but i feel a little safer with it not being here

I wished we would have gotten it. It is an honor to host the games. I signed many petitions for the games to come here. Without the W. Side Stadium it was doomed.

I actually am very happy we didn't get it. I was dreading the thought of added congestion, terrorist threats, etc. Those who say it definitely would have been good for commerce...remember Greece? Oh...and also not a fan of the WS Stadium. This city is congested and dirty enough as it is. Sorry, I love NYC but the truth is the truth.

I agree..and NY is too much of a terrorist target as it is...I am selfish I was worried about my brother (NYPD) who would have to work morning noon and night like he did for the Repulican Convention
