Re: NYC 2012 Olympics... bad news.

NYC is the most incredible city in the world. To host the Olympics is an honor for the country as well as our city and State. To think that NYers would hate to be 'inconvenienced' for two weeks worth of traffic, IMO, is a little selfish in the name of national pride. Does anyone remember how the city was tied up in traffic for the subway series? And those who DIDN'T drive used mass transit. People dealed with it. I am still saddened.

We have been and will always be a target for terrorism for as long as NYC is a center for finance and trade - like it or not. It was like this for many years BEFORE 9/11. Funny, I don't recall a mass exodus of NYers right after that horrible day. Just like Israel doesn't clear out because they are under constant attack, they stand up for national pride.

Pip. Pip. Cheerio for London as they are a great ally to us and certainly more deserving than France.

I hate to beat a dead horse but I just heard about terrorist attacks on the subway system in England. They shut down the Underground and Tony Blair left the G-8 conference to return to England. Again, I feel safer here.

Does anyone feel that explosions in London today was in anyway connected to them getting the Olympics?

There wasn't nearly enough time for a terrorist group to organize it in response to that. They planned this for a while.

No - it is about the G-8 summit. I think the Olympic announcement was a coincidence.
