PLASTIC RING GUARDS quickly? As in, TOMORROW?
I'll be at the Roosevelt Field Mall, if that helps.
TIA
again.

Heehee...any jewelry place, Zales, Kay Jewelers, etc. can put in temporary ring guards (not plastic, usually silver or stainless) right in front of you. Much better than plastic too!

won't the metal scratch up my ring?I've heard the plastic doesn't scratch it - and it'll only be on there for 10 days

Re: NEW q =) Anyone know where I can buy
It can, but it's really minimal, the same as you brushing the ring against any surface and it can very easily be polished off...your ring is plat, right?

Re: NEW q =) Anyone know where I can buy
OK...get plastic. You're right, you definitely don't want to scratch your ring especially because polishing takes longer since it has to be re-dipped in rhodium afterwards. I actually don't know where to find plastic guards...sorry!
But I hear ya on the waiting for the last minute thing, I went shopping for my HM on Wed and my wedding was on Friday.
ETA: Another reason why you don't want to scratch your ring and have to polish it is because the engraving can definitely become compromised...not worth it!

DO NOT GET THE TEMP GUARDS! I had it put on at fortunoff...the guy said it may scratch a bit, but I was not prepared for what it did.. I was crying! The platinum was practically cut..it was awful! I found this website online and they shipped the guards to my house. They worked perfectly! The good thing is they are plastic and you can cut them with a scissor to custom fit your ring!

What are ring guards for? In case you don't get your ring resized... ?

my e-ring has hand-engraving all the way around the band, and I don't want to have the ring cut and resized. It DID fit when I got it, but I've lost some weight, and now it spins.
I anticipate getting chubbier someday (esp. when preggo!), so I'm going to have the ring shots/ring sizer balls/beads soldered in to stop the spinning when I get back from my trip
Yes, ring guards are for rings that aren't resized to fit you perfectly.
