Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

We're taking all of our pictures before the ceremony. So, does this mean that I should bustle my dress for the pics and then un-bustle for the ceremony? That won't wrinkle the dress, will it? Thanks

Re: Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

I'm sure it comes down to a matter of preference, but I don't think I've ever seen a bride with her dress bustled before the ceremony.

I'm doing the same as you, taking pics before. My dress won't be bustled.

The problem is that my train is pretty long and I'm not sure what to do with it. I don't want it to get dirty while I'm walking around. I didn't even think about this til I was at my 2nd fitting yesterday!

can you have your BP help pick it up? I've also seen some posts on here suggesting to bring a white sheet with you to stand on.

Re: Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

Can they put a loop or somethingon the inside bottom, so you can kind of carry it?

Re: Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

My train is really long also, and I too am taking photos prior to the ceremony. Don't bustle the gown- it will get all wrinkled before the ceremony. Your girls will be there to help you get around, and you'll be fine.

I think my BP and DOC would kill me if I did that because my bustle is so complicated! It's kind of like these and in 3 layers.

Re: Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

I'm not bustling until our first dance. For our pics (which are before the ceremony), I am sure the Bridal Attendant or my DOC will help me so that my train does not get all dirty.

Re: Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

No bustle. If your photog wants it busteled, he can do it himself. He/she will have opportunities to take pics of you with it busteled later in the day after you are married. Jen, I can't believe it's so close. BTW-your dress is gorgeous.

Re: Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

I also took pics prior to our ceremony and did not bustle my dress, which I really regret.

Now looking at the pictures of me trying to hold up my train with that 'finger loop'...I just looked awkward. Granted, this was just a problem in the candid shots. But there were quite a few candid shots were I was like, damn, I wish I wasn't holding that damn train!

Re: Taking pics before the ceremony (bustle question)?

I bustled mine for cocktail. It was annoying me and I wanted to be able to relax. But for my photos before CH I did not bustle and it was fine, didn't get dirty or wrinkled. I was told that normally you don't bustle until after the 1st dance but I didn't spend all that money on dance lessons for nothing so I bustled.
