and the reception card read:

Please limit your guest

Monetary gifts preferred

Bridal Registry at Bloomingdales

I wouldnt have believed her if I hadnt seen it with my own eyes!

my friend once got one that said 'no boxed gifts'

I wanted to do that - but my mom said i couldn't for our engagement party - and then bitched about having to store our gifts

I only wanted to since we didn't have anywhere to put stuff though. If this is for a wedding - they have no excuse.

limit your guest? what does that mean- limit how much they drink or something? don't bring one but bring one?

This is a wedding here on LI. I asked my friend the same 'limit your guest' question. She said it referred to how many guests you bring. It should have read 'limit the number of your guests' So it was a grammatical error. I told her as a joke she should only give her husband half a drink and let him eat half the entree and say she was limiting her guest.

What the hell is 'limit your guest?' Aren't people invited by name or with guest? Shouldn't you know who is being invited by how it's addressed? This person clearly is not completely in touch with the world of social skills necessary to interact with others....

That was really rude and clueless of them!

I hope no one goes to her wedding.
Your friend should call bloomingdales every day and one by one request that each gift be removed from the registry.. the greedy bride will be so excited shes getting all these gifts and then get squat!!!! j/k
