Ceremony Officiant Recommendations
Can anyone recommend a good officiant for our wedding ceremony? We were hoping to have a spiritual Christian ceremony but it's difficult since we don't belong to a church and our ceremony is going to be held at the reception hall. Time is starting to run out and I'm getting desperate. Thanks.

Re: Ceremony Officiant Recommendations
I've recommended him a million times and will recommend him a million more...Father Tom McCormick. He's a vendor on here.
If Father Tom is unavailable I will also recommend Reverend Michael Callahan.

I'm going to make a couple of appointments with Tom McCormick and Michael Callahan. I've heard good things about Pastor April too but I actually prefer a man to perform our ceremony. Does that sound weird? Thanks for your recommendations. I asked my FIL to find us an officiant months ago but he still hasn't found anyone. I feel like it doesn't get done right if I don't do it myself.

I feel the same way... Both FH and I are RC and feel 'strange' having a woman preform our ceremony. You will be happy with both Father Tom and Rev Michael. They're great! Good luck!

Just curious, why does it seem strange to have a woman perform your ceremony?

We're both raised RC and have always had men as priests... It's unnatural to the two of us to get married unless it's by a man. We're unable to get married in a church right now, but plan on doing so later. We were very fortunate to have found both Father Tom & Rev. Mike both were RC Priests.
My friend got married this past weekend...a wonderful woman performed their ceremony. It seemed very strange to not only the both of us, but most of the people there. It was more...sun, moon, stars kind of thing...not God.
It's weird...I'm not sure how to explain it without sounding stupid. I hope I made sense.

You don't sound stupid, I can see where you are coming from.
For us, we are interfaith, and neither of us are religious so its not too strange, although when I started researching interfaith officiants, FH made a comment about how many of them are women.
From the interfaith ministers I spoke to, they are about making the ceremony 'spiritual,' which is probably what you meant by the sun, moon and stars thing.

Yeah...that's what I meant by the sun, moon and stars thing.
Thanks for understanding. Sometimes I can sound pretty ignorant when it comes to certain topics....I was afraid this might be one...one that is also very important to us both.Since you are looking for an interfaith minister I'll find the info on the one my friend used. She was really good.
