Kel, thanks for posting this. It looks like the bill is being amended a lot, and has been failing by great margins.I do like the comments on the bottom of the page though. Very insightful!

It's so sad that people cannot realize its the owners that treat and train these dog to act mean. I have a pit and she is the most gentle, caring and beautiful dog I have ever seen. I am adding her to the list too!

FBIL has 2 of the sweetest, most lovable pit bulls I have ever seen! FH and I puppy sit for them sometimes and they are the biggest mushes...but they were lucky to have a loving home w/ parents who never mistreated them.

Re: SOOO wrong (xpost) Pit & Rottie Owners please look
That is such bulls**t...my FH had a rottweiler (he had to be put down because he recently became paralyzed for no apparent reason). I have to admit when I first met Zeus (also the first day I met my FH), I was a little scared of him (because of all the crap you hear about rotties). As soon as he ran past me, onto my friends diving board and cannonballed (kinda) into the pool, I was hooked. Zeus was the sweetest dog I have EVER known, he used to rest his big head on my leg and even jump into bed with me and my FH (all 140 pounds of him). It is all in how you raise them. Especially rotties, you need to show them who's boss when they're little so they don't gain run of the house. I am looking forward to getting a rottie when me and FH get married. I think the people who raise these dogs to be fighters and killers should be banned. Dogs are NOT born mean.

Re: SOOO wrong (xpost) Pit & Rottie Owners please look
AAAAGGGHHH this is the kind of BS that pisses me off so much!!!!! What garbage! Anyone who has properly trained and raised a pit or rottie will tell you that they are the sweetest dogs in the world! These dogs require RESPONSIBLE owners, people who are willing to invest the energy into training that these dogs need to thrive and grow up into loving mushes! My rottie is a year old now, and my heart just breaks every time I hear assinine comments about Rotties as 'killer vicious dogs.... You know what? NONE of those people even know what these dogs are truly like, they are ignorant and lazy and it's just easier for them to hide behind a stereotype instead of looking at the individual situation. This actually just happened to DH and I last weekend in an obedience class. The instructor paired the class up into groups of two and three. Our pair was with the woman next to us, who had a Jack Russell terrier. Well, as soon as hear heard that we were her partner, this nasty b1tch takes one look at Golem and said 'Oh no, this isn't going to work, I won't pair up with HIM' like he was this unruly horrible piece of crap!!!
Craig and I were so offended, and after that the instructor herself (who LOVES Golem and trained him in another course we enrolled him in at the same place) apologized about it and did the exercize with us herself, with her own dog......I am glad you posted this Jess, I'm always glad to help re-educate people about what these dogs are REALLY like - so I am going to post a pic of my sweet boy Golem in the hope that these small steps on our behalf will eventually get through to people and help change their minds about these horribly placed stereotypes.
