Beach wedding

Hi there! This is my first post on the '06 boards.
I would love an outdoor ceremony maybe on the beach or by the water. I would like the reception to have the same feel. I would like to avoid the typical 'ballroom' setting. Of course I would like the prices to be affordable. We would like it in Sept. '06 and have aboutb 150 people.
Any suggestions? We haven't started looking yet. Newly engaged and stuck already

Re: Beach wedding

Hmm.... maybe you could consider the Lessings Pavilion at Sunken Meadow - it is much more casual and right on the beach.

More expensive would be Gurneys in Montauk

On the water but no real beach is The Snapper Inn (I think it is Oakdale)

If you did decide to go more traditional, there is the Crescent Beach club, Land's End, Atlantica

Sunken Meadow is one of the places I thought of actually. I just wasn't sure if it would have that concession stand feel.
I love Land's End! I feel it may be out of my budget though same with Atlantica.

Check out Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst. It's right on the water and the ballroom is gorgeous. Good luck!

Hi Jess,
Your right CLM is beautiful. I went to my friend's wedding there in June and had a great time. Do you know if you can you have the cocktail hour outside?
Thanks,
Aimee

If you guarantee 150 and do a Saturday afternoon, they will drop the price to $120pp. Not great, but definitely worth it! I Land's End too (obviously)!

Definitely the Atlantica! It is absolutely gorgeous, and you can have the wedding under the tent on the patio...

Re: Beach wedding

i absolutely LOVE the crescent! CH is on the beach, if it is a nasty day, they will keep the glass doors shut and you will still have a breath taking view. The ballroom is the same, an entire wall of glass doors that open onto a deck.
You are the only bride/party there so you will have full access of the beach, ballroom and the two lounges. if you have any questions FM. I am always willing to talk about my favorite place!!!!
