Is anyone doing the whole wedding planning by yourself w/ little or no support at all?

Re: Support
Well I wouldn't say I'm doing all the planning alone. I get a lot of support from my mom and my sister (MOH). As for my FI, he's interested but he's not extremely involved. We live together so we talk about the planning. To be honest, there are way more things that I want 'my way' that my FI doesn't even have an opinion on so his attitude is 'whatever you want'. I know when it's time to pick things like the menu or our HM he will be more involved.

Re: Support
Same thing here - FH wants to be involved in picking the vendors, but as far as favors, programs, votives on tables, guestbooks, etc. he could care less. Makes it easier for me - then I get what I want

Me too!
FH is a great help. I am just too much of a control freak to let things out of my hands.

Re: Support
FI and I are doing everything ourselves. We have almost no support from everyone else. Both of our familes ask questions, but noone is involved. FI has been great and has gone with me to every appointment.

i think my FH is the only one who is being supportive. i feel like everyone else - including my parents and sister - are treating it like its no big deal. and it kinda pisses me off with that attitude - i just wish i had someone who could get me pumped about dress shopping, flower arrangements, etc.
and FH is great - but no guy can replace a girl when it comes to planning a wedding.
hopefully things will change as my wedding gets closer - but i know the feeling of 'i have this whole thing to plan, and i have to do it all myself' - very overwhelming.

Re: Support
I am planning everything by myself and FH kind of left everything up to me. But it becomes very frustrating when you need your FH's opinion and he tells you 'Whatever you want dear'
Well, I had to have a little talk with him and actually told him that if he doesn't step up to the plate that I will quit with the planning. Of course, he listened to me and yesssssed me, but the next time I wanted to talk to him about something I got the impression that again he wasnt interested so I told him that I quit (which of course I did not
). It did freak him out and he after a while he started asking me questions about it and eventually became more involved...sort of. But at least now he knows the deal. As far as opinions go, people suggest things to me, but I flat out tell them either yes thats a good idea or no its not...Im not about to put on a front and deal with all this BS that some of you put up with...
By the way, did I tell you girls that I am PMSing today...holy crap-I feel like a totally different person...I think Im Elvira the Witch for the day!

Re: Support
My FH only gives his opinions when needed. I am doing most of the planning myself. He is working on the house stuff. Since he decides not to really help me with much of the planning I dont help him much with the house stuff. Its only fair.
That'll learn him.

Re: Support
Well now that I think about it, my FH is ALWAYS doing something around the house (of course not cleaning-rather making a mess) but he is a Mr. Fix-it-All-By-Myself, and he is always doing something in the yard...so maybe I shouldnt feel so bad that I get to do plan it all by myself.

My mom and sister (MOH) are interested - but they're not really involved at this time. I know they'll be super-involved when I need them - which will be the few weeks before the wedding.FH just wants me to have whatever I want
