Using a travel agent for Honeymoon??

I have never used a travel agent before...

If you book through them does it cost more then if you book your trip yourself?? Do you pay them an extra fee??

Re: Using a travel agent for Honeymoon??

Don't think so. They might get a comission.

We used Liberty Travel in Levittown. Emily was our Agent and she was GREAT id recomend her. We figured this was a BIG $$ trip so we wanted to go through someone in case we had problems. Plus we did a lot of inter Island flights so it was easier for her to do the leg work. I wanted to stay at other hotels and she kinda talked us out of it (even though it would have been more $$) becuase thouse hotels were away from EVERYTHING. When we got to Hawaii and realized this we were SO HAPPY she talked us out of it. We got insurance just in case. And She was able to put 'honeymoon couple' In the computer so we got some extras. Like Champagne and Choclates at every hotel. And We got some discounts like we got a thing for a buy one get one free sunset sail. There were other couples there who paid full price even though they were on their honeymoon!!!!

Re: Using a travel agent for Honeymoon??

I seriously LOVED my TA. I went to a lot of stand alone agents (Liberty Travel, Apple Vacations, etc.) trying to get good service and the best price. Someone on theknot (a lot of someone's actually) recommended I try two e-based agents...I sent both of them my 'must' list which was a mile long, my dates and my budget. I ended up booking with Hayley from Beach Bum Vacations and received excellent service, the absolute LOWEST price (that was important) and a worry free HM. Her email is Hayley's email and my review of her is posted here . I seriously cannot recommend her enough. A few girls here have used here as well (SFP0214 most recently) and also had positive experiences.
And most importantly, no, she doesn't charge a fee. I found that only those that put together travel itineraries for things like African Safari, Australia, the Indian Ocean will charge a fee.

HTH!

Re: Using a travel agent for Honeymoon??

I used Joe V. from liberty travel in Selden. He helped plan our entire honeymoon in Italy. (not a tour) he was so helpful. The cost on own vs. travel agent was virtually the same and less time spent on our end.
