Help me countdown....10 days!!!! 9 days now!!!! 8 days now!!!
Can you believe it..its finally, finally real. This roller coaster ride has been so damn hard..one minute they were coming, the next they weren't..now they are ABSOLUTELY coming...they are booked on a flight getting into DC on August 8th at 10 am!!! Just ten days away!!!!
My mom is flying out next friday so that she can go to the airport with me..we will make a big banner with the American flag and the Ethiopian flag and I have gifts for them. I was able to send their backpacks over to Ethiopia with clothes and games etc. I sent adorable outfits and shoes and socks and underwear.i8 bought them the cutest boxer briefs..sooo cute. I cant wait to see them coming off of that plane in these outfits. I think Im going to lose it!!! Im glad my mom will be there for this with me..I couldnt imagine anyone that Id rather be there with me at the airport to meet my children...the woman who gave me life....it just blows me away!
Well anyhow..Im counting down..just ten short days..I know I wont sleep at all..I just cant believe my wait is almost over!!!! Tick tock!

Alicia, that is absolutely wonderful. I can't believe the time is actually in the very close foreseeable future. I cannot wait to see you and the boys in the same picture with those huge smiles they have.

I am so very happy to read this post. I bet you can't think of anything else right now. How wonderful that your mom will be right by your side. It would be great if someone were there to take a picture of YOU as you see your sons for the first time.

My mom is going as well as a good friend of mine who lives in DC and hopefully she can video tape for me and my mom can take a few pictures..I cant believe its just 9 days away!!! I am so excited..its all Ive been thinking about since November when i saw their faces..but now its so real..all the waiting and hard times..man.,.I left my husband, found anew job, found a great apartment,getting a new car on monday..my life has really changed..all for these boys! I cant believe they are FINALLY just about here..ive been waiting for them.
9 days and counting!

Your story is truly unbelievable. I don't come here much at all any more, but I want so much to follow your story. One only has to read your messages to know what kind of a mother you will be. Your own mom must be very proud of you.

Thank you everyone!!! Thank you LIMOM for what you said too. I pray that I will be a good mother. I know being a momis hard.
My mom is very proud of me, she has been an unbelievable source of support and I am very lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing people. I have never felt alone in this, I have great family, friends and you guys!!!!
And now Im about to have two sons!!!!

Thanks so much everyone for your faith in my "mom skills"..Im terrified..didnt think I'd be doing this single...but they are much better off with me than in that orphanage and I will find positive role models for them to be around..I have alot of great guy friends thankfully, as well as a brother in law and two brothers! Someone asked how old the boys are..they are both 8 at this point. But we will get more accuracy once they go to the dentist..these ages are guesses by the orphanage and we will have to pick their birth dates. 8 days now!!!!!!! Tomorrow will be one week!!!!!! YEA!!!

It will be SO FUN to pick their birthdays and have them around for a while before they have to go to school... you are such a wonderfu person for doing this!!!!!!!!!
