HOW MUCH TO TIP BAND...

We are serving them dinner- at my hall it is 1/2 price...

I want to tip them a little something extra to... what do you guys suggest... how much per band member? There are 9 people.

Do you tip the band? Isn't all the money in the fee going to them because there is no company to pay?

That's my question too. Is $40 per person not even worth it? We are paying for the band, their room because they are traveling, and their dinner.

my band is daybreaks night from franklin wayne music so i am sure that not all the money goes to them...

some do work for a company though'

My band was independent of an agency and I tipped them $30 each and I gave them dinner. I would do the same even if they were booked through an agency.

I think most bands assume they will get dinner so I wouldnt really include that as part of your tip.

I think we tipped ours $20 each and we had 10 band members. I think we gave a little extra to the band leader who we dealt with all the time.

We had an 8 piece band and gave them either $200-250, I don't remember which.

i thought gratuity and tax was included in the package of franklin wayne bands... if you're talking about tipping in addition to that, then i've heard $25-30 for band leader, $15-$20 per band member

On the Knot there is a tipping guide, and it suggests $20-25 per band member, which is what we did. In retrospect, it seemed kind of cheap, though we did give them dinner also. I do wish we had tipped them more though--they were really good.

We tipped each band member $50.

Typically- the band leader gets the most $$$...

we didnt tip....i wanted to but hubby said not to worry b/c they were paid for 4 hours but played 3 hours and they got dinner
(there were 3 of them)
i felt that we should have.

My DH is in a band and they play weddings at times...if they get tipped it is usually around $40-$50 each (5 of them)...they usually expect to be fed too.
