Are wedding bands (rings) supposed to cost this much?

For platinum regular wedding bands like over $1,000 each.
And for a matching diamond - they range like from $1,300-3,000.
Is this what most people pay. We only went to one store so far.

If you can make it into the city, you'll find much better deals. My friend just bought a plain platinum band for her FH, and it was $475.

I went looking for bands, and the mens bands are reasonable. The diamond bands I looked at ranged from $850 to custom-made $3000, that's without any bargaining though

I know that when FH & I went to our friend of the family for our rings..he told us that plantinum is much more expensive. A white gold simple band would be about $300 where a platnium band would be about a $1000. My diamond band would be platnium with diamonds going halfway around and that is going to be about $1200. It really depends on what size diamonds you get and what metal you get. I would look around though.

I am getting emerlad diamond all the way around- it's going to be over 3 carats-

I just found one online only half way around for close to what my jeweler ( friend) is charging me for the whole thing

we shopeed around (both them up in Albany...were wwe lived at the time)

total for both and mine has 7 small diamonds was about 500

Im in the same search as you. I'm looking for a platinum diamond channel set ring either 1/2 way or 3/4 and Im getting quotes of 1200-1900. So your prices sound about right.

I don't know about the diamond bands, but a plain platinum band for me cost us $300 or $350.

that seems a lot to me. My band is 3mm platinum and plain and it was $550 at fortunoffs (with the 10% bridal discount).

Isn't 3mm very small?

We almost bought our wedding rings at Fortunoff's until we found out the quality of the diamond was not so good.

for a woman's band that is large. the ring size is 6 & 1/2 in circumferance. I do not have any diamonds in my wedding band becuase that is traditional for us.

I know for men's platinum wedding bands at 7mm they were quoting us $2,100!!!!

mine was a platinum eternity band and it was $1400

Michael's was $350 for gold and white gold

We had custom made rings, DH's brushed platinum band with some detailing was about $800 and my platinum band with two princess and three baquette diamonds was around $1300....if I am remembering correctly!!
