I don't normally watch it but it was so very sad. His mom died on Valentine's Day and he was going to call her earlier that day but he was still drunk from the night before. He packed up all of his stuff and went home. I don't think he is going to go back to Austin - he said it was just too hard.

OMG - that is so sad. How did she die? Was she sick? I saw him crying in the preview....

OMG!! I feel so bad for Danny! He had that whole valentine's dinner set up, he was out all day trying to find the perfect shirt and tie. He spent $112 on roses and when he got home he called his dad back he found out his mother died earlier that day of a hart attack.

It left off with him crying saying that he should have called her this morning. He was like 'I have a flight tomorrow at 6 am to be with my family and bury my mother'. I was bawling the entire time!
That poor kid.

Aww...that is so so sad. Poor Danny - he has had the worst time in Austin

I saw it but I didn't catch where his dad said it was a heart attack.

It was so sad.
That's is pretty much what happend to DH's cousins when they were away at college. Their mom had to call them & tell them their dad died suddenly of a heart attack.

Yeah, she died of a heart attack. I thought it was the absolute saddest Real World I have ever seen....I was wondering if Danny has any say in what is broadcasted - the poor guy probably had to relive the whole thing last night when he watched it on TV. Also, I was a little surprised when they showed the coming attractions and they followed him home to Boston....

I figured his mom had died from the previews...but I was not expecting to be so sad. I cried all through the episode. Definitely the 'realest' Real World. It's right up there with Pedro and AIDS. I mean, I stopped watching because it was all sex and drinking...life is much more 'real' than that. Poor guy.

i was devasted last night watching that - i didn't hear what she died of...

i think the worst part was when they showed the clip of him talking to her four days earlier. and she is almost begging him to call her more often. and he is just rushing her off the phone almost (don't we all do that sometimes?).

but his sister seemed to say, 'listen, she was happy you were there, and she loved you'... I hope him and his family are ok now.

It's so sad because he didn't have a good relationship with her to begin with, which is why he was so cold to her on the phone. I'm glad he at least got to speak with her that last time because in a previous episode he said he didn't even want to talk to her. He must be feeling so much guilt, the poor kid.

I know.

When she said 'I love you' atthe end of the call he just said 'Okay, talk to you later'. It's so sad to think those were the last words.

Just goes to show you that you shouldn't take people for granted. I felt bad for him and now it's immortalized.

oh my god, i am seriously tramautized from it. danny's mom died and it was ridiculously sad!!
