URGENT!!! Calling NYC Teachers!!!

I have a question about the salary steps. I just realized that all this past year, I have been placed at base salary. But I meet the criteria of a bachelors and masters. everyone i talk to thinks that i should be on a higher horizontal step (not 1a or 2a or anything like that but the c2pd steps.) any info???

Yes, you should be at a different step. You should see your payroll secretary and get the papers (of course there are a million papers to fill out in order to get the raise) and then they have to be submitted to court street.

I'm almost positive that they will not pay you for this past year, even though you had the credits, because the paperwork was not done.

You have to fill out paperwork within six months of getting your masters to get back pay. Your payroll secretary will have it. Request transcripts now if you don't have them.

i just requested all of my transcipts. my problem is that i have my bachelors and masters and yet for the past year, i have been paid base salary and never noticed it.

You might get back pay from when you apply, but I don't think you will get back pay from when you earned your masters. Stupid BOE!

Then you didn't submit the proper paper work. There are two forms to fill out. One is for step placement and the other is for Degree placement.

You will need original transcripts for the Degree placement. All of this paper-work should be submitted to 65 Court Street. Good Luck!

thank you! i have made a couple of calls but i have to do it all again tomorrow. i just sent away for the transcripts so hopefully as soon as i get them, stuff will get into action. frustrating though. i have no idea how this one slipped passed me. they just give you soooooo much when you start and you think you did it all but noooooooooo
