My heart is breaking...

My mother called. She brought in my/our dog today because she's been coughing the last few days and having a hard time breathing.

The doctors said Gizzy has congenital heart failure and her lungs are filling up with fluid. They said there is nothing they can do, short of dragging it out for her for a few weeks at best.

They are going to have her euthanized tomorrow

I can't even describe how I feel right now. I'm sitting here at work trying to keep it together and I have to keep escaping to the bathroom to cry. She's only eight and the best Boston Terrier in the world. I feel like I'm losing my best friend...

The same thing happened with our dog a few years ago. It was one of the most heartwrenching things I have ever gone through. That dog was like my best friend - she used to sleep with me, etc. The only thing I can say is that s/he will be at peace now, and not in anymore pain. That is really the only comfort I found whne I went through it. You are in my thoughts.

Im so sorry for your loss. But rest assured your dog lived a good life with wonderful people around him that truly loved him.

OKAY I can't even read this today, I am awaiting cancer test results on my dog today, been a mess, I know how much these animals mean, I am soo sorry about your pooch

Oh my gosh...I am so sorry! My dog has fluid in her lungs due to a valve problem with the heart. She is on meds, but is still coughing.
Please know my thoughts are with you
