Ok...another job related VENT...WANTED TO MAKE THIS A SEPERATE POST

I am so PO right now...My union rep is friends with the principal..can you say conflict of interest??

SO the principal knows that I will not tell her whats going on with the job search so she gets the union rep to e-mail me. The union rep also e-mails me job listings for places I would never at..and then harasses me about sending my resume!

So I just got an e-mail from this union rep who was like 'so did you find anything yet..well you come back to school but that really wouldn't be a good idea'! ..Gee thanks for your support!!

I have not let on about my plans not to return and I won't for a few weeks!

I work in the city..the principal told me in June that she doesn;t think its a good idea for me to come back..She has had it out for me since last October...have no idea why..

The principal promised to 'help' me find another job and then told me to just look for vacanies...

She is horrible and apparently has gotten worse during summer school by trying to get rid of more people

Do you have tenure.... FH is in the same situation but thankfully reachs tenure the day school starts. So when he was excessed he was told he has to show up the first day of school to his old job and then they HAVE to find a new post for him.

Isn't that illegal??? They shouldn't be discussing your biz like that btw each other b/c it's exactly how you said it - conflict of interest...I'd suggest going to someone higher up!

Well unfortuntely she was voted in...but more than a few teachers have said that the 'election' was fixed!! She is actually replacing the other Union Rep who is on maternity leave and she was the one who counted the ballots...hmmmmmmmmmm

Does Nyc board of ed have any job fairs going on this month? I heard of people getting hired on the spot. Have you checked their website?
