I should of eloped... I hate to do this VERY LONG VENT!
It seems like whenever I step forward, someone knocks back on my A**!!!
This is not my usually chat name. I just post on here from time to time, whenever I have any issues...and it seems like in the wedding industry, there are penty of them (issues). It ***** to say this, but I really hate my bridal salon. I went for a fitting last week and had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I've been holding it in and trying to be patient, but I just can't do it.
FIRST THINGS FIRST!!! My childhood dream of getting my wedding gown will now be tarnished FOREVER by this "reputable" bridal salon and some of its employees. I would love to call and speak to the manager, yet I fear for the safety of my gown.
Everyone was so sweet and calm when it came to finding my gown, but now that they have my $$ I feel as if I am being treated horribly. I have been checking the boards, and It seems that am I not the only one who has had this gripe. I am seriously contemplating taking my gown and getting alterations elsewhere. I just want to end my ties with them. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, and hoping my next time will be better. FOR EXAMPLE, the customer service is HORRIBLE! The last time I called to ask a simple question about holding a veil on the side for me, the B***H hung up the phone on me when I told her my name!
Sorry for the vent, but it just seems like you are at the mercy of these people (vendors), and you can't do anything about it! I am normally a calm person, not at all a Bridezilla, so this all comes as a shock to me, my FH, FHMIL, BM's and the others who have witneesed this first hand.
I come from a place where no matter how much you spent, or what kind of attitude you have...
THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!!!!!!
I think I should just act more like them (RUDE, ARROGANT & B****Y) and maybe they would RESPECT ME, THE CUSTOMER, more!

Re: I should of eloped... I hate to do this VERY LONG VENT!
I feel the same way about my salon. It's been nothing but rude service and people who are clueless since I have been dealing with them.
I am contemplating when my dress comes in to get the alterations done elsewhere, because I worry about how much more damage they can do and I really don't know if I want to be stressed by their staff so close to the wedding!!
Your best bet is to suck it up for now. Show up in person if you have to if there is an issue. It took all my strength not to call them up and call their seamstress an idiot when she told me something could be done to my dress that can't be done.
When your dress comes in, take it elsewhere for alterations. And get your headpiece from someplace else.
Hope this helps, but I know exactly how you feel!!!

There are so many places where you can go to get your dress altered and the price may not be much different than what you would pay there it sounds. If you paid for you dress and don't want to give them anymore money, make sure your dress has come in and go get your dress, and then give them a piece of your mind. BTW, if anything does happen to you dress while it is in their possession, I believe they are responsible for it.

Re: I should of eloped... I hate to do this VERY LONG VENT!
i'm sorry that stinks!! there is NO reason for her to hang up the phone on you- A CUSTOMER!!! i would go get your dress and find someplace else to get it altered... this place doesn't deserve any more of your money. the wedding gown industry stinks. this is the main reason i decided to have my mom make my dress... i went out shopping at a couple places. these places are so used to dealing with bridezillas, that they assume every bride that comes in is gonna be one, and they treat you with a huge chip on their shoulders... its not cool. good luck... get your dress and get rid of that shop!

It's a wonder this place is still in business. I would take the dress and have alterations done elsewhere. The sooner you can be rid of them the better. I would not purchase another thing from them. Good luck!!

I am sorry you had such a bad experience. The first 2 times I went to bridal salons to try on gowns I left so upset about the way I felt I was treated. If you decide to take your gown some where else, I would defenitly recommend the salon I decided to use, the ladies their are wonderful and they make the experience so pleasurable. It is Angels Bridal in East Islip.

Re: I should of eloped... I hate to do this VERY LONG VENT!
Thanks gals! The place I am referring to is still in business and doing very well!
I am not going to let this experience ruin it for me. Hopefully the next time I go I will be treated with respect.
If not I will take my dress and get out of there!
