How do you take pics of your E-RING without the Glare?

I have adjusted the settings 100 ways so it seems. Is there a trick? I have a Sony Cybershot

Re: How do you take pics of your E-RING without the Glare?

I found that a sideways shot takes it the best (i.e. an 85 degree angle). I cannot do a direct shot face down - it is just a big glare where the stone is.

Re: How do you take pics of your E-RING without the Glare?

1. Natural Light, no flash

2. A bright room, no flash

3. Using a bounce flash (which I'm sure they don't make for the cannon cybershot)

Anyway, see a pattern? No flash. These camers don't have enough optical zoom to be able to get a picture that's close enough while being far away enough to use flash, unless you have a camera with high MP and you ahve someone take the pic from several feet away and then you crop it. The flashes on these digtal cameras are WAY too hot and way too close to the lens
