Junior Brides Maid Dresses.....

I just found out that Bill Levcoff doesn't make Jr Bm dresses... I'm using that line for my BM dresses though.. Can anyone recommend a designer that makes Jr BM dresses.. And will I have a problem matching the colors??????

you may be able to say add straps to a strapless gown, are you sure the bm dress is inappropriate for the jr? they can be the same... if you go with a different company you may have trouble matching colors, unless you do a different color that compliments the bm dresses

My BM dresses are Lazaro (strapless). Lazaro doesn't make jr. bridesmaid dresses (I don't think that many designers do) so we ordered my jr. bridesmaid who's 10 the same lazaro dress. We're adding thick straps to make it a younger style.

My BM dresses are Bill Levkoff Euro Red. We got the Jr BM dress from Eden Bridals. It matches exactly. David's Bridal also has as nice selection.

I know one of my neices will be 14, but the other is 11....Do you think this is inappropriate for them???

And do you think it will look ok with straps??? It already comes with Spaghetti straps, but should I go thicker???

Very pretty dress. I think the dress is fine for your jr. bridesmaids. It doesn't expose too much skin and the straps will give it a younger look. You can do a thin strap for the 14 year old, but if they can either order it or take material from the bottom, I'd put the younger one in thicker straps. Either type of strap is fine though.

Right, I had Bill Levkoff dresses and when I ordered my dresses- that is when that company that did his jr. dresses just took off- what they do is take the measurements of the girls and special order them- out of my 2 jr BM 1 fit into a size 2 with minor alterations she is 13 and the 10 yr old they did a special order- the dress is exactly the same just with straps added to them! but the special order did cost $ 50 more!!

My girls ordered bill levkoff in Euro Wine and we are ordering my Jr. Bridesmaid a Forever Yours dress in Burgundy and it matched great

you can usually have the regular bm dress altered to fit the jr bm if you can't find a match. we are having the bust cut out and altered so it fits and looks right on a little girl as well as adding thick straps. alteration cap was like $40 more than regular. ~lacey

I used jordon dresses. The Jr. Bridesmaids dress was the same as the bridesmaids. It was such a nice dress for both ages! Sorry the pic is so blurry!

I was thinking, could you alter the BM dress to make it a tea length which might make it seem a little younger?

We also used Bill Levkoff. I was told that all his dresses can be added with straps at no extra charge. We ordered the straps. Just a thouht.

I have bridesmaid that are 12 and 14. Yes they are Jr BM ages but my brother asked that I leave the Jr off because they were Jr Bm's at his wedding when he remarried.

In any case, I too am using Bill Levkoff dresses for the BP, my salon told me that the Bill Levkoff dresses can be taken in up to 5 sizes and maintain the same proportion. When I was looking with the adult BP members, there had been an 11 yr old in the dressing room across from us who was having an adult sized dress altered and I asked her mother if she was pleased. she said she was.

As for straps, I too was afraid that a strapless dress would be innappropriate for a young child - that it would be too sexy. I mentioned that to my brother and his wife and my SIL said, 'If anyone looks at a 12 year old thinking they are sexy, then THEY are sick. There is nothing sexy about a 12 or 14 year old unless they are purposely made to look slutty.' Your dress choice is elegant. However, I would sooner pick a strapless dress and add straps then pick a dress with straps or a tank style because when you alter a dress with straps to such a small size, the straps won't lie well if it was made that way in the first place.
