can you do them with actual votives?or does everyone usually use the tea lights?

I did them with tealights for two reasons:
1. they don't get very hot
2. with the light 'inside' the glass, there's that nice glow happening. with regular votives, the wick is usually almost at the top of the glass and therefore no 'glow'
