Re: Any 06 Bride getting married in Brooklyn?

We haven't set a date yet (ignore my profile date) but we definitely want to get married in Brooklyn cause its where we live and we want something that's close for everyone. We are thinking of checking out Prospect Park's Picnic House, The Tobacco Warehouse, and the club they have on Ft. Hamilton Army base. But we'll see once we finally get around to checking these places out.

ah, the Prospect Park Picnic House. that was my first choice. the site fee is very reasonable ($3500) for 8 hours I believe, BUT the catering fees from the preferred caterers STARTED at around $100! this upset me so much b/c a lot of them are restaurants that I frequent, and the prices on the menus are very reasonable. I honestly do no want to spend $150 pp for the amount of people I am having, so after trying a bunch of different ideas, I started looking at full service catering halls and came upon the Westbury Manor.

If I had the inclination to spend more money on my wedding, I think I may have stayed at the Picnic House for my guests convenience (I live in Park Slope) but I really fell in love with my hall, so I am not too broken up- plus it's a lot less $$, and no worries about anything food related!!

wow- this is long, but I wanted to add that if you choose the PH, your wedding will be lovely. they just finished renovating it, so you will have no worries.

Good luck and happy planning.

Re: Any 06 Bride getting married in Brooklyn?

I think with the renovations they have added air conditioning....besides, we are thinking of having sometime in sept or oct.
I checked out some of the caterers on their exclusive list and they are quite expensive, but there was one, Jacques Caterers that my parents had used years ago and they were pretty reasonable, so if their food is pretty decent we are leaning towards them. Thank you for all your input!!!
