Westbury Manor brides - Don't miss menu choices?!

What choices on the menu did you end up going with? Anyone ever do the Blue Hawaii thing (anyone have a picture of how this looks when you sit down?) - how was it? We chose hibatchi, southwestern, and a couple of other buffet dishes-

What did you choose? Is there anything they make that shouldn't be passed up during cocktail hour?
Just wondering - Thanks!

Re: Westbury Manor brides - Don't miss menu choices?!

We picked the Southwestern table. I wanted something different and light hearted. Also,
John from Flower Michele said he went to a wedding at WM and loved that table.
We picked a safe choice for appetizer - trying to satisfy most of the crowd.

I go on Thursday. We're also picking the southwestern.
Did you guys do the salad/appetizer combo? If not what
appetizer and salad did you go with?

Re: Westbury Manor brides - Don't miss menu choices?!

Antipasto (Italian family mixed in) and Manor Salad (sounds yummy). We got the pasta course thrown in when we booked.
My rule: FH cannot have red sauce at the table.

We tried to get them to throw in the pasta course, my FI's family ALWAYS has that. But they wouldn't do it w/o us paying $3 extra. I think we plan on skipping the appetizer and doing the pasta in it's place.

They have the pasta selection with the cocktail hour. Will that suffice?

Re: Westbury Manor brides - Don't miss menu choices?!

Did our menu tonight... I think we had to many wines....hehehehe... We hate the chocolate fountain and voiced our opinions when they tried 'pushing' it on us... 'But the guest love it' they said...:Ok, that's nice, we hate it' we said!...hehehe..

We went with the Blue Hawaiian & Manor Salad too!

Re: Westbury Manor brides - Don't miss menu choices?!

Do all '05 brides get these menu choices? When I booked (in April 2004) I was told I can have the 7 choice entree - but I've never heard of these options!

What is Blue Hawaii???????

Southwest table??????

I feel so out of the loop with WM - it's so frustrating.

I think the Blue hawaii and Southwest table are cocktail hour options to choose from if I remember correctly.

the blue hawaii is for the reception when you walk in. I didnt go with that b/c of the acidic factor and not everyone likes pina colada( coconut) edited to ask did they give you guys the new menu option the grilled portabello over greens? We did that, it was a hit and having that as a appt/salad combo gives you 1/2 more dance time. I didnt want my guest to come in sit and eat, dance sit again for salad, dance sit again for dinner, sit again for cake , I wanted them to dance dance dance!!!, there is sooooooooo much food at the cocktail hour

I'm doing the portabello/mesculin combo then the pasta course then the main then dessert.

Lori - I added the fountain (((running away)))
I plan on sticking my tongue in it and contaminating away! lol

Not sure if you girls know this but WM now has a mashed potato station...its new. Yummy. I wanted to add it in but it's $3 p/p and they wouldn't budge on the price, so we passed on it.

Yes, I'm sorry you had to find out like this Lori.
Being from Franklin Square, you must stick your tongue in the chocolate fountain (and whatever other body part you choose)

Hey, what's a little money.
More importantly....

What's with the tongue & choc fountain??
yeech. I wonder if they change the chocolate contents after each event? Now, I doubt I will have any.
.
So....you wanna dip in the fountain?? I'm glad my wedding is 2 days before yours. by the way..chocolate stains are more impossible to get out than red sauce.
