Re: Going to a 'Black Tie' Wedding

For a black tie you should wear something longer than cocktail length, so it could be to your chin, or ankle, or to the floor....black tie is fun, you can get REALLY dressed up, wear a gown, I'm jealous!

Re: Going to a 'Black Tie' Wedding

I have a black tie wedding in October, and I'm NOT wearing a gown. I don't own any and don't like the way I look in them, so I am not going to buy one. I'm wearing a fancy cocktail length dress w/ a faux fur wrap to dress it up.

ETA: It's actually mid-shin length, my dress...covers the knees

I think she meant to say up to your shin Not chin

Up to your chin would be s lil riske for a black tie wedding
