repost - Send info w/STD?

I'm getting married next Labor Day weekend. We will have several guests coming from out of the country and more than 130 people coming from OOT. We want to send our STDs magnets out at the end of Sept, but with all the hotel info (almost like a wedding info packet).

Since it's Labor Day and hotels won't let me block more rooms until the ones I have are full. We are hoping that at least close family and friends will book early and then we can open up new room blocks. They can start reserving rooms this Oct.

1) has anyone sent out packets like this? I'm looking for a template. I'm afraid I'll send too much info and then the invites are somewhat pointless.

2) Is this a good idea? Or should we just send the STDs and send the hotel info out with the invites

I think its a good idea to send out the hotel information. You have a high numbe of people from out of town and a holiday weekend. I dont think it will take away from the invites.

I think the idea of an info packet is a good one with so many OOT guests!! Def send the hotel info so they can start booking, esp since it's a holiday weekend!! I don't think it'll take away from the invitations, everyone will prob still be expecting them.

We sent our hotel info out w/ our STD's b/c some people had already asked for it! This way they can book the hotel and not have to worry about it at the last minute.

I didn't send out a packet but put all the hotel info on the STD...

It's worked out great and I already have about 7-8 couples already booked!

I sent an informational letter along with the std and it worked out really well. Had hotel info, local wineries, things to do in the area (since many are flying in) and basically a kind of welcome i guess
