Yard Sale Question?

We are having a yard sale next weekend and I am having trouble figuring out how much to charge for stuff. Does anyone have any tips?

Re: Yard Sale Question?

We had one a few weeks ago. I priced everything cheap, pretty much $1 for most things, $5 for big things. I just wanted to get rid of it, but figured that instead of throwing it all out, I could get a little cash for formula & diapers. Books & records I did $1 each, 6 for $5. Comic books were $0.50 each, 6 for $2.50. We made about $100, and are going to do it again in a few weeks. If it doesn't go that time, we're just donating it.

Re: Yard Sale Question?

We had one in July and made decent money & got rid of a lot of 'junk.' Like someone else said, always start off higher b/c 9 times out of 10 they will try to bargain w/ you. We had a kid table separate and then had stuff that we agreed either we get the price or we don't sell it. But for the most part, by the end of the day we were coming down on a lot of stuff just to get rid of it. We figured getting something was better than just tossing it. Good luck.

Re: Yard Sale Question?

I have sooo much stuff I could sell but I am stuck on figuring out how much things should be. Also DH wants nothing to do with a yard sale, so I'm worried about being able to handle it myself

Re: Yard Sale Question?

I am having the same problem. I have no idea how much to sell stuff for and DH wants to keep everything! He is not even going to be home for the yardsale, he has to work. Luckily my neighbor and I will be doing it together.

Get a friend to fdo it with you. Have her bring over all of the stuff she wants to sell too, that way you can help each other out. My friends and I have a group tag sale every spring- usually just to get rid of clothes we don't need anymore.

That's a great idea! We should have a group sale! We could sell all leftover wedding cr@p and tell people on the B2B board about it!
