Question for NYC Teachers
my sister teaches in a Queens middle school.
she told me that they fired 15 teachers + all the lunch aids on the 1st day of school because they had to cut $1 million from their budget to sent to Hurricane Katrina victims.
anyone buying this story?? I’m not!

that's what I said too! now my sister has been known to embelish stories, but what would she gain by making this up?
and it's no secret how f'd up the NYC public school system is, and has been for a long long time.

That is THE MOST REDICULOUS THING I'VE EVER HEARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was she one of the people fired?? If she was she should get on the phone with the Union ASAP

she has tenure, she wasn't fired. the 15 that were fired were brand new to teh school.

 that can not be true! if so, that is messed up, but in our school, we NEED teachers and i know our principal would be like "screw that!"
