Where do get plus sized mother of the bride dresses??

my mom is on the heavy side. and it doesn't help that she's only about 5'1'. i know she's already feeling pretty depressed about finding a dress because she doesn't think she'll look good in them

where should i take her that they'll have dresses she can try on in HER size? i heard there's a store called 'queen of hearts' that i think specializes in plus size--anyone hear of it?

she doesn't want a frumpy traditional MOB dress. she keeps talking about looking young and cool. gotta love my mom...

any suggestions? if any of you have a plus sized mom--can you post pics of her dress and/or of her in it?

I have the SAME EXACT problem!! My mom is also 5'1' and somewhere between a size 16-20 right now and yet doesn't want a 'matronly' dress either!! The dresses she wore for my both of my brothers weddings were bought in Macy's, but I don't know if we'll have the same luck this time.

So I kind of need an answer for this too!!

We went to Adrienne's in Islip yesterday and they had a huge selection of plus sized dresses. The samples even came in size 16 and 18. My Mom loved it there.

I.m a size 18 mom. I couldn't find anything, everywhere I want the dresses were in small sizes. I wouldn t buy anything I couldn';t try on.
I finally found a plus size mother of bride/groom store, I try on at least 50 dresses.

My son is getting married this Friday. Went and picked up my dress today(I live in Brooklyn). Sorry no pics.
It's strapless black beaded top and chiffon botton with a jacket.
I looked for months and 7 weeks ago I still didn't have a dress. Everywhere I went nothing was in my size to try on. My son was flipping out that I still didn t have a dress and I was really depressed(sp). Someone at work told me to try Queen of hearts. It was the only store where I was able to try dresses on.
Than I couldn t decide which dress I liked best . They had every style and color in plus size.
Your mom will find something she loves in this store.

MY MIL got her dress at Queen of Hearts on Merrick Ave in Merrick.

My mom got her dress at Totally You on Merrick Rd. on the border of Bellmore/Wantagh.

My mom got her dress at Dimensions in Cedarhurst and was able to have it custom made to her specifications- though she paid a pretty penny for it. She has also looked at Queen of Hearts and purchased dresses there in the past.

My mom is very heavy and was so depressed during the dress finding process. She wound up getting the perfect dress for her at Moonlight Couture in Merrick (same place I got mine).
Also try sugarplums in Lynbrook area.

My mother - also short and also on the heavy side bought her dress for my sister's wedding at Queen of Hearts. I went with her. The sales people were very very nice. She is planning on going back there to buy her dress for my wedding.
