How many months b4 wedding is my shower?

How many months b4 wedding is my shower?

Since my FH and I don't live together we need to get just about everything at the wedding shower. But I'm hoping it's not being planned too soon, we will have no where to put everything (we don't have a home of our own yet, and we both still live at home). How many months before the wedding do showers usually happen? Is it rude to ask the people planning it to not have it too soon? I know usually it's a surprise, I don't want to know the day it is, just want to know that it's closer to my wedding day.

Usually one or two months before. I don't live with FH yet and we won't have a house when we get married. I am just going to put things in boxes and saving them, but we are also not going to rent. We will jump into a co-op or a house as soon as we can. Living with the in-laws for awhile.

mine was really early in most cases. 5 mths before only because we had nothing and just moved to Florida.

Im in the same position.. Mine isnt a surprise so i know its mostly like going to be the first weekend in June about 6 weeks before the wedding..
