infant jesus church

I've heard that itis difficult to get married there if u r not a member of the parish. Does anyone know if this is true. Iwas a member when I was younger and received communion and confirmation there. I hope I don't have a prob. because I really love that church. Anyone know anything about this?

since you got them both done there it might be easier.But i have heard there is a waiting list.

i tried to get married there and trust me if you do not belong they will not let you marry there.

I AM A MEMBER THERE AND YES, YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMEBER IN ORDER TO GET MARRIED. THE THING WITH THIS IS THAT THERE IS SO MANY BRIDES IN THE INFNT JESUS PARISH AND WHEN OTHER BRIDES FROM OUTSIDE PARISH'S WANT TO GET MARRIED THERE, THE MEMEBER BRIDES CANNOT. THEY HAD MADE THIS DECISION A LONG TIME AGO. AS MY FAMILY IS A PART OF THE CHURCH COMMUNITY.

I BELIEVE THAT EVEN THOUGH YOU HAD MADE YOUR COMMUNION AND CONIFORMATION THERE AND MOVED, IT WILL MATTER. IF YOUR PARENTS AND/OR YOU ARE NOT PART OF THE INFANT JESUS COMMUHITY, YOU MAY FIND IT TO BE A PROBLEM.

INFANT JESUS CHURCH IS IN A GOOD SPOT WITH THE LI SOUND NEAR BY AND MANY BRIDES WANT TO GET MARRIED THERE, UNFORTANTLY THEY HAVE PUT A STOP TO THAT. YOU CAN ALWAYS TRY AND GIVE IT A TRY.

I have been a member of Infant Jesus Church since I was born. I had always dreamed of getting married in that church since all of my family functions were there. (weddings, baptisms, funerals) It has always meant a lot to me to be married by Father Frank in THAT church because of my families history there. But they GAVE MY DATE AWAY!!! I had booked with them and had the hall booked as well and then they said they overbooked our date and somehow I got bumped. They had to write me a letter allowing me to get married in another parish. I am very lucky because Father Frank is still going to marry us at one of the most beautiful churches on the island - St. Patricks R.C. Church in Smithtown....

oh my i am so sorry to hear that...i am glad you found a church that you love...
