Sandals/ St. Lucia...
This is an add on to the Honeymoon question...Has anyone done any research on the Sandals in St. Lucia? Which one might be better? More romantic? Nicer?
How is St. Lucia overall? I've been there on a cruise, but never got to really experience the island.
Thanks all!

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
i booked the regency at st. lucia. i was told that it was the best one. the grande is also supposed to be nice, but it was once a hotel, so the regency to what i hear has a more romantic sset up. well i know that u can do anything at all 3 for free, so if u pick one, then u cna go to the other for dinner and activities, best of both worlds.

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
I heard the Grande is the better of the three, becasue its newer and more up-to-date, I also heard the beach at the Grande is the nicest!

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
When I was searching, I was looking into the Regency. The rooms look much nicer and seem to have more variety for the price. I heard it is very hilly and tropical on the grounds.I am now hearing better things about the Grande. I just wasn't crazy about the room choices at all. When you look into them, you will see what I am talking about.
The best places I have been in the Caribbean are St.Thomas and St.Maartean. You should look into them.
What about the Royal Hideaway in Mexico. I heard great things about that place.

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
Im staying at the Regency St. Lucia.. from what I hear, they are ALL nice. Wherever you stay you can use all the facilities @ all of them, so you really cant go wrong. I heard St. Lucia is very lush & tropical. The beaches are amazing & theres lots of things to do off the resort as well as on the grounds. I love that everything is all-inclusive. Have you booked anything yet?

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
I think we've decided on St. Lucia. We're just going to take a chance with the hurricane season. They have that gaurantee, so...When are you planning on going? Why did you choose the Regency over the Grande? I'm checking out the Regency now and the rooms seem better!
I don't know what to do! LOL. But I agree, there's so much to do on the island. My FH so desperately wants to go deep sea fishing and they offer that. For some reason none of the other 'all-inclusive' places anywhere else (other islands) give you half as much amenities as Sandals. I think it's a good choice!

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
Well.. I'll be honest.. We were going back & forth between the Grande & the Regency. The reason why we ended up with the regency was because I love the idea that everything is set uo on a hill and overlooks the whole island. To me.. thats what I was looking for in a honeymoon. I love being in a tropical enviornement. St. Lucia has so much to offer. Im going right before you.. I'll let you know how everything turns out. I wish there was a honeymoon thread so we can get reviews from former brides that went to the Regency on their honeymoon.bummer.

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
Did you book through a travel agent or through a Sandals Official Representative?I know that's where we're going to end up going, now we just have to decide which place! So many decisions, lol.
So I guess that means you weren't too concerned about the hurricane season
We're going for it.
Thanks for the info!! And I agree about the thread. That would be MOST helpful. I tried to post something on the Brides Helping Brides, but I haven't got much response. Maybe now that it's Monday I'll hear something.

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
I was torn between the Grande and the Regency......my travel agent said if you want nicer rooms and better sunset views -- go for the Regency. That's what we did. We booked the 2-story villas that are on the bluffs that get an incredible sunset view. The Grande didn't have villas like that. That being said, I agree with the others that they are ALL nice and you get to go to all three resorts on the island!! You can't go wrong!

Hi Chelle,
I posted a reply on your other thread...I'm British of St Lucian parentage. We are having our wedding there on July 22, 06, in Soufriere in an old plantation house and having our ceremony in a marquee..lol:lol.
I hope I can put your mind at ease a little. We have been travelling to St Lucia in the hurrican season since our oldest was 10 months (during summer break here, every two years) he'll be 16 next February and I promise you our holiday has never been spoilt. You will be honeymooning in the 'hurricane' season but truly you'll be surprised, if you get any rain at all during the time you're there. We have found when/if this happens it usually rains for a short time and then the sun comes out.
Which ever Sandals you both decide on, you'll be well looked after. The people are friendly and welcoming....hope you both have a great time.

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
Sandals also offers hurricane insurance if that eases your mind...which is ALSO included.

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
We plan on going to the Grande. From my research it is the nicest, newest and cleanest. also the quietest.I plan on spending a couple of days at the regency (while FH golfs) And we plan on eating a few dinners there.
But we will be staying at the Grande

Re: Sandals/ St. Lucia...
We booked the regency for the sole reason we loved the hills and that we liked one particular room (the water's edge) the best. In speaking with our travel agent she said that she thought the Regency had better restaraunts.... I can't wait to go there, I am so excited!! We used Joanne from Travel Solutions (she is a vendor one here) and she gave us some great stuff to look at and was really helpful. She can help you if you are interested.
