Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

Hi, I was planning on wearing my rings on my honeymoon but
FH thinks it's foolish since we're going to be swimming
and there's a chance they could get lost. What is
everyone else doing? I think it would be weird to be on my
honeymoon and not have my band on.

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

I'm leaving both my e-ring and w-ring behind. I'm getting a plain 14kt band to wear on the HM. better safe than sorry. I also don't want to have to worry about leaving it in the room safe. (I'm sure there is more than 1 key!)

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

I had both with me and left it in the safe when I was swimming or going on excursions. The safe was an electronic combo safe.

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

I took both with me and just kept them in our safe when I thought I'd be doing something where the rings could get lost or damaged (like snorkeling).

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

we had this conversation the other day

mine e-ring and wedding ring are VERY flashly

so it's not a matter of me losing them- but something happening to me b/c of them

we are leaving are rings and watches at home

I am ordering us silver bands to wear

I was very upset- but I see his point

I don't 100% trust the room safes either
I don't think I could relax at the pool knowing my rings are up there

they will be safer at home

That is another reason why my FH doesn’t want me to wear mine on the HM. Lots of bling, and we don’t need to attract attention to ourselves.

In light of all the things that have happened- the groom missing and Natile Hollaway- you can't be too safe

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

I brought both my wedding and e-rings but mostly left them in the safe in our room. I think I wore them once or twice to dinner.

Our jeweler gave me, as a gift, a plain white gold band that I wore most of the time, and truly, I wear it a lot when cleaning or gardening.....it's actually pretty nice!

You are better off. And some 'locals' do realize you're newlyweds and check the diamonds out when you're out of the resort-type areas. DH would yell at me to 'stop flashing' them! :) But it's so much fun to wear them on the HM!

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

I am likely going to leave the e-ring at home, but the band is plain white gold, so that should be fine...

I am wearing a plain white gold band on my H-moon (actually the band I am getting married in). My e-ring and diamond wedding band are staying home!

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

My e-ring is flashy also. My w-ring is more simple with a channel setting but it is small. I have decided to leave my e-ring home just b/c I don't trust those safes either. I figure that I still want people to know I am married but without risking the chance of it getting lost or stolen.

Re: Wedding ring on your honeymoon???

Well I don't have much of a choice. I live in NC but am getting married in NY and then flying to our honeymoon 2 days later so I will have to bring my rings with me. I guess I will leave them in the safe. I feel pretty safe doing that. I've left things (money, jewelry) in hotel safes before and never had any problems.

And it's insured anyway......

I'm leaving my e-ring home and just wear my wedding band. I don't wanna risk losing one of my most price posessions, but I don't want to be without one of my reminders of my beautiful wedding day
