Looking at Houses
Did you ever go to see the house without your SO? My DH's hours have gotten pretty hectic so I'm going to see one by myself tonight. Is that weird? I figure if I like it which more than likely I won't, I'll go back there with him.

Re: Looking at Houses
i went with my mother instead of DH sometimes, i would definitely go by myself if there was no one to go with, DH was a real PITA during the whole process (he had no patience with the research and leg work required).we do this a lot. i do the research and narrow down the possibilities. i present them to him and he gives his opinion. with limited time we find this works for us!

Re: Looking at Houses
I looked at a few without my wife. If they were worth it... i would bring her back to look at it again.

Re: Looking at Houses
I worked in NYC when we were looking, so DH saw a few houses on his own, including the one we bought. He drove past a TON without me to weed them out.

Re: Looking at Houses
I went by myself a few times. If it was anything special, then I'd make another appointment for him to see it.

Re: Looking at Houses
I go screen them and if i like them I take him back there. After all, if I dont like it, whats the point?

Re: Looking at Houses
I would go first and bring him back if I liked ithe likes what I like- he handles the money- but I pick things out
he works more- so I do more
it's what we did with our apartment- but he didn't see it till moving day
he loved it

Re: Looking at Houses
We did that at first. But I would bring him back to something and he wouldn't like it or he would bring me back to something and I wouldn't like it. We found that we ended up wasting more time and energy by splitting up so after a bunch of houses we agreed to only see them together.

Re: Looking at Houses
I did most of the research on mlsli.com first - but I only actually went to see 1 house without him because my old boss was selling hers...we were already pretty sure we wouldn't buy it though.Welcome New Vendors
