Fox Hollow question
Hi ladies,Looking for all you Fox Hollow 06' brides... or any FH bride I guess
I just went to their website and really really like it. I'm supposed to meet with a BM there this weekend, but on the phone they were oh-so-vague about pricing that it frustrated me.
I am getting $62pp with lots of extras at Coral House for a Sat afternoon in October and the BM at Fox Hollow told me he'd work with me and I needed to see the place before he could give me prices... but I really love Coral House! I don't want to waste my time going to FH and possibly liking it as much as CH because we can't afford more than $62 pp.
Does anyone know what the price is for Sat 06 afternoon in the fall?
Thanks so much!
Jennifer

Re: Fox Hollow question
I'm not a FH bride, but you should go check out FH. it's definitely worth a trip to see another place. if for no other reason but to validate your decision on the CH.

Re: Fox Hollow question
Fox Hollow doesn't give you prices (or even estimates) over the phone.I'm sure they will come very close to what you're getting at Coral House.
It's definitely worth a shot going there to look. I went and FELL IN LOVE.

Re: Fox Hollow question
I would definately check out Fox Hollow. I don't know what a Sat. afternoon would cost but I am paying $70 pp +tax and service charge for a Friday night in May 07.

Re: Fox Hollow question
I booked Sat night in July (high season) so I won't quote you my price but if you ask me comparing the CH to the FH is like apples and oranges. The FH is way more classy, the photography rooms are great (keep weather in mind) and they also offer services like a wedding planner for no extra cost. If I were you I think its definitely worth the trip. I'm sure they can work with your price range. I'm not having a very big wedding but they are offering a lot. In know they offer more than the Carlton on the Green for less. I looked at a lot of places and I loved the Fox Hollow and unlike other catering halls nothing is shared like the cocktail hour.

Re: Fox Hollow question
I have been to the Fox Hollow for a few occasions and the food is excellent and so is the service. I think its a great choice. I would choose it over the Coral House

Re: Fox Hollow question
I'm definitely going to check out Fox Hollow based on all your recommendations!I'm really curious why it seems like people don't like Coral House. The room we have is gorgeous, we're getting married outside by the lake and having cocktail hour on a beautiful rooftop deck... and 6 people tasted the food which was delicious...
thank you all for being so helpful - i love this board! :)

Re: Fox Hollow question
I checked out Coral House and liked the BM there. They seemed very accomidating. One of my BM had a party there for her grandmother and loved it and her and her family are picky about their food. FH and I didn't go with them bc for Feb FH came in close to the CH price and the indoor cocktail hour room wasn't to our liking. We have a large wedding tho...CH seemed more willing to deal. FH has a more set package. CH was willing to give us food right there at our first meeting and said that we can come in any time a party is going on and they will make up plates. I like the Bm at both places but CH was more natural- FH is very salesman style.Summary- for my Feb FH was affordable for us. In your time range CH may be better for you. I'm sure they will both be nice. I like the rooftop cocktail hour idea!
Good luck!

Is it true that they don't do food tastings?
No, they do not do food tastings. You are welcome to come to the restaurant (Rose Hunt) and they will cover the main plates and dessert for you, or you can come to one of their Showcases where they offer a lot of the food.
HOWEVER, you honestly DO NOT have to worry when it comes to Scotto Brothers food. They are infamous for their quality and quantity. Their chefs are world renowned and are constantly being featured all over - FoodNetwork, Good Morning America, etc.

Re: Fox Hollow question
We just went to FH's 'Behind The Scenes' event, and let me tell you, the food was amazing! Like Christine also said, you can eat at their restaurant and they'll take care of the entrees. The last time I was at Coral House (keep in mind this was 2 years ago) the food was not good. I think they've changed chefs since then. However, I also love the feel of Fox Hollow. Very quaint, lots of beautiful gardens, etc.

Re: Fox Hollow question
I'm excited to see it based on all your rave reviews!I got a very 'salesmanny' feel from the BM I spoke with on the phone which sort of turned me off, but we shall see...
HMPENA, my family is the pickiest there is when it comes to food, so I took 4 people with us to taste at Coral House the other day and we all agreed it was fabulous...they did a lot of renovations, too, and changed their menus in March she said...

Re: Fox Hollow question
Just wanted to update all who responded to my post...We went to Fox Hollow to look yesterday, and while it was very very pretty and the grounds were gorgeous, the BM was really very salesmanny and I didn't like him nearly as much, or trust him, as much as Kristen at Coral House. It was also more $$$$ than the man told me on the phone, which was annoying, so it isn't really in our budget....
We're going tobook CH
Thanks for all your advice and help!
