Bouqet/Garter Toss

Is anyone doing this at their wedding? My FMIL and I almost had it out about this the other day! I don't want it at all!

NO we are NOT doing this!!!! I hate participating in it at other weddings and I dont want to do it. Instead we will be doing the anniversary dance and the couple married the longest will get my Bo-K

We are doing it b/c we both love the idea of it! But, I was at a wedding last year where they didn't do that or the bouquet toss... you really don't miss it.

If you don't want it, don't do it... it's YOUR day.

OMG, somewhat related here...

I was just at mt recep. hall, and looking through a book of photos, was a picture of the groom, taking the garter off the bride. Fine, could be funny, but the angle was WAY wrong, and it looked a little like his head was 'in her lap'.

I actually laughed out loud, and had to point it out to my mom!

I've NEVER seen an anniversary dance!

I never considered doing anything besides the traditional tossing of the bo-k to the single ladies, but I like the idea of doing something different (esp. since I know it'll be something new and unique for most of my family!)

So, what is it the 'anniversary dance' and how do you determine which couple was married the longest?

Anniversary dance starts will all married couples on the floor. DJ/MC then announces that all couples married less than X years leave dance floor, and so on, until only one couple is left.

We're not doing either garter/bo-k toss or anniversary dance.

I am not doing it :

1 my fh is shy and he does not want to do the garter

2 when people drink alot, and then a guy has to but the garter on a girl and her date is not happy.. it can lead to trouble

3 I want to dance and enjoy, I dont want to take time out to do the flowers & garter

We actually didn't like the idea of the anniversary dance!!! We felt bad that couples had to sit down just because they weren't married long enough!!!

That, and we already know that FH's grandparents would be the longest married!!

We're doing the bo-k and garter toss, but it's more for good luck than who is the next to get married since there aren't many of our guests that are single!!

to each their own.. i personally am not having either. when i am at a wedding and its that time, i hide in the bathroom....lol i dont like participating in them and either do my friends, so i am not having them.

All just my opinion, but I really don't like the bo-k and garter toss.

I've always hated it and I don't want my FH's hand up my dress in front of my dad.
