Mine is an upgrade - $75 for sugar snowflakes and an extra 25 cents per person for a square cake. It should be about $120 extra.

We upgraded from a regular cake with buttercream which is about $2.75/per person to $4.25/person because we wanted fondant icing. I will be providing the roses which will be placed between each layer and the baker will arrange them for free.

We made ours a 4-tier cheesecake, which was $ 75 more than the included standard cakes.

Wow, I guess I was very lucky. I upgraded our cake and brought in my own picture of a square 4 tier cake...they made it exactly like the picture and it was included...no extra price.

Re: Is anyone upgrading their wedding cake? If yes, how much did it cost?

I had read somewhere (some bridal mag or something) that square cakes are supposed to be cheaper because they can get more peices out of it, but when I ordered my cake, square was more $$$$.

I guess it is just another example of making $ off brides....or what I read was wrong. Anyone know?
