fall wedding, favor question

im not even engaged, im posting this for my gf who is getting married during the fall..she loves the idea of an ice cream scoop favor.. is that odd since ice cream is not like a fall thing, its more associated with summer or hot weather, is that weird? ty for opinions, im reporting to her

Honestly, I've gotten ice cream scoops for so many favors, what about doing something else, os does she have her heart set on them?

When is her wedding and where? Once I kinow this I can work on favor suggestions..

Does she have a theme ?

her color scheme?

If she isnt having a 'fall themed' wedding then I dont think its 'odd' at all!!! Those are one of the few favors i have actually used from weddings I have been to so I say go for it! If she is having a fall theme, I would try to do something more within the theme, but then again I am one of the 'fall freaks' so who knows lol

I am getting married this month and I am giving out ice cream scoops and ice cream bowls for the favors. So I think they are a great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think it matters.....people eat ice cream on apple pie in the winter!!!!

Yeah really,and ur not enagaged??!?


As for favors, give a donation and use fall stationary and attch somethinmg sweet with it, like gummy pumpins, chocolate etc..

That is what I plan to do.

good point!!! Is her heart set on the ice cream scoop or do you think she might be interested in another kitchen item like a pie server?

I don't think it matters. my wedding has a Fall theme and these are my favors they're not Fall related.

Michi, I think it's fine, and I think ice cream scoops are one of the few favors I have actually used.

Hi girls!! Yes I am an old school LIW girl... about 2 years ago i was talking marriage with my very long term live in bf.....long story short, we called things off b/c of some situation that occurred...but i had gotten close to many LIW girls who helped me threw my break up...therefore I racked up tons of posts mainly on NWR LOL..and i pop on once ina blue moon to see how everyone is doing:) I even worked doing event planning for a magazine for awhile so my wedding knowledge did not go to waste LOL... I am always on Long Island Families now b/c most of the girls I chatted with from LIW have since got married and moved on...



as for my friend, yeah she is engaged and in law school so she has come to me asking for suggestions, im still in the process of convinvcing her to join LIW so I can stop posting in lur of her questions LOL

thanks for the opinions girls, ill pass them on to her!

yes - i agree with the above post about actually getting a favor that you can use! i have gotten one ice cream scoop and i love it!!

as far as making it 'fall,' add something different to the scoop!

I think it is a great favor. She can just add something fall to it. Like a scoop of fall colored kisses or pumpkin candies or candy corns or something with a fall colored ribbon or something, that would be perfect!!!

We are doing teh fall theme too. we decided against teh ice cream scooper and coffee scooper because they didnt go with the theme. Instead we decided on these....they will be individual wrapped in eitehr a box or in some tool or something...cant decide
