best places for dress shopping

I am going to start dress shopping in a couple of weeks. Where are the best places to start? I was also debating as to whether it was worth it to make an appointment at Kleinfields because they have a very large choice and then once I find the dress find a more local dress shop to go to. What do you think???

Re: best places for dress shopping

I would make an appointment - you get individualized attention that way. Ask for Kristy - she is awesome! I'd call tomorrow and make it for the next week or two.

Re: best places for dress shopping

Lillette's in Baldwin is great. Ask for Gerri. They took time w/ you & were very helpful. I didn't have an overly pleasant experience at Bridal Reflections.

I went to Kleinfeld as a MOH for my cousin's wedding & they bring dresses in to you and while we were there told this girl, 'you couldn't afford THAT dress, try this one.'

Re: best places for dress shopping

Kleinfelds - hands down, best place I went..
The customer service is unbelievable.
I couldn't find a picture of my dress online and I called them. They took my dress out and took a bunch of pics then emailed them to me and printed them out and mailed them to my home!

Re: best places for dress shopping

I went to Kleinfeld too and I'm having the same problem. I can't find pics online of my dress so I was thinking of calling and scheduling another appt to go see my dress and take my own pics. Did they give you a hard time? Did they charge you add'l for taking the pics for you?

Re: best places for dress shopping

I had a great experience at Bridal Suite of Bay Shore and Lillettes.

At Bridal Suite I had Maryellen help me- she was awesome. So helpful and patient.

At Lillettes, Pat helped me and she was great. She's so sweet and helpful. I have another appointment with her this weekend to choose the actual dress. I have it narrowed down to two.

Just an FYI, I did not have a good experience at Macys in Manhasset or The Wedding Center in Commack. FM me if you need details.

Nope, I just called them and asked if they had them. I never expected to actually get them but I did.. As far as I know, I wasn't charged.

I also recommend them.

I would also recommend Lidia's in Copiague.

Re: best places for dress shopping

After going to 16 Bridal Salons
I decided to make an appointment at Kleinfeld.

I fell in love with the first dress I tried on!
Definitely go to Kleinfeld. It was the best decision I made so far.

Re: best places for dress shopping

Thanks for all the advice, I remember going to Lillette's as a MOH and I remember them being very nice and helpful, I will try there.

I think I might just try Kleinfields for the heck of it. Do you know how long in advance you need to call for an appt?
