'a Friday wedding, I've never heard of that'. Makes me want to pay an extra 15K to have it on a Saturday. I really want an evening wedding where people would kickback and unwind-not worrying about work the next day. Now I have to worry about people not coming becaue it is a Friday. Ugh!

Dont sweat it, I am having a friday wedding and though it may be hard for some people if they really want to be there they will be there.
Not saying a saturday wouldnt be nice, but we cant afford it, people dont realize how much wedding actually cost these days

Yeah thats a hefty price tag!
We wanted a saturday but we are happy with our friday...besides it gives everyone time to recoup over the weekend!

Chalk it up to that individual being from OOT, and not realizing how expensive a LI wedding really is.

You caneasily have a wedding for 10K including everything...and easily have a wedding for 60K including everything

We have OOT ers and they all were excited about taking a day off of work!!!

People from OOT really have no idea how much a NY or LI wedding costs. Don't sweat it.

My brother and my cousin both had Friday night weddings....trust me, if people want to come, they will find a way. If not, think of it as one less person to pay for!!!

These comments about the day of the week really get to me. We booked a Saturday night and some people had comments about the time. How crazy is that? Trust me, the same people would comment no matter what day!!!!

People can be so critical! They just don't know how INSANE it gets in NY with this stuff (why I wanted to elope!) 15k is a huge difference and Friday night weddings are a little better than Sunday b/c you do have the rest of the weekend! One of my BM weddings is on a Friday. Same rationale 'if they really want to be there-they will be!'. Don't worry about it!

Well I have to admit that I too at one point in time (two years ago) was one of those people who thought that about a friday wedding, as well as a holiday weekend wedding. Now I am one of those people who needs to use those days, and that type of weekend. Your right people don't realize how

that really is rediculous!

Don't worry about it at all! A Friday night wedding is great and people will be there. This person is clearly not from LI. Friday night weddings are so common.

Some people just dont realize what they say my upset others. I have been to plenty of Friday night weddings and I am myself getting married on a Friday night. I am sure that this is the opinion of one and most will have an amazing time!!

100% agree. saturday r much more expensive. big reason why we opted for a friday wedding. besides, it gives us the whole weekend to party before leaving for our honeymoon monday.

I am having a friday night wedidng & couldn't be happier...in fact I was talked into a friday night wedding by one of the banquet managers at a hall I didn't book at b/c as she said everyone will either take a half of day or take off (which everyone loves) & its friday after a long week of work everyone wants to have a good time. I thought I wanted a sat night wedding but when I found out it was almost $20 more a person I said forget it. People just don't understand. Honestly I wouldn't take anything anyone said personally just say to yourself my day my way--that is what I say

. Anyway I invited 314 people & 239 of them are coming so it can't be that Friday night is a bad night or uncommon!

Wow, I wonder what people are saying about my SUNDAY NIGHT wedding....

Don't sweat it honey, people will be there for you no matter what day or time it is! If they have 'complaints' - it's better off they not be in attendance anyway b/c they're there for all the wrong reasons anyway.

I actually love friday night weddings and thats why I picked it!!!

I love that it is an excuse take a day off (although Im a teacher so usually summer weddings Im off anyway) and then you still have the whole weekend to relax!

Someone will always have something negative to say about EVERYTHING. We have to brush it off.

My wedding is on a Sat night and people are still complaining saying it goes too late. SO LEAVE!!!!!

People are just rude (& jealous).

the way I see it, a Friday wedding is great for numerous reasons:

1) Less expensive than a Sat night wedding

2) No weddings before or after yours. You can start the party whenever you want.

and....

3) It weeds out those guests that you are not that close to, who may have been invited out of a feeling of obligation.

The people that I am closest to will be there no matter what and will be happy to take a day off from work
