Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

Has anyone used the Best Western in Riverhead recently? How was your experience? I'm getting married at Giorgio's and it's the closest hotel, we went by and into the lobby, and it looks fine. I blocked a book of rooms, but any feedback would be appreciated, i.e., how is the restaurant, was the bar open in the evening (I'm having a day wedding). Many of my guests are OOT's.

Thanks ladies!

Re: Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

Hey there-

I'm getting married at East Wind the day before you!

Anyway, FH and went to check out the Best Western and we were very impressed. The lobby is pretty, and the rooms are nice and clean (they told us all the guest rooms are being redone this winter). The bar was great, and the bar tender was very nice. He had some guests in there that had a wedding later that night, and was talking about how good he was going to treat them. They also provide a shuttle for your guests so no one has to drive.

The only reason we decided against it was b/c we're blocking rooms at the Inn at East Wind instead.

HTH!

FH & I won a free night stay at a showcase we went to. We are going to use it to check out the hotel before we book the block of rooms. I hope to do this sometime before Christmas.

Re: Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

At an East wind show case I won a free night and I absolutely hated it. I wanted to go home, that's how bad I thought it was. FH and I ate dinner at the restaurant we were the only ones there!!! The food wasn't good and the entire place (including the rooms and restaurant) smelled.

Sorry guys but I absolutely hated it.

I wish I never went.

I went for my bachelorette party overnight and I thought the rooms were fine - they were clean and courteous.

Re: Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

I got married on Labor Day at the Vineyard Caterers and we blocked out about 35 rooms there and we had no problems. They were very nice and gave out the room gift bags at the front desk as we requested. They also had a very clear sign describing when the shuttle left and returned (they offer a free shuttle for hotel guests to the reception hall).

I defiantely recommend working with them.

The rooms were very clean and actually we really enjoyed the honeymoon suite.

I guess I was there on a bad day.

No one else seemed to have my problem.

It will be fine

Re: Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

I thought it was ok but they just built a new Holiday Inn about 5 minutes from there. In my opinion, nicer than Best Western. They are owned by the same company so you can contact whoever you blocked rooms with for info. Hope that helps.

Re: Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

The owners of the Best Western east end are opening the brand new HI express in Riverhead, it opens Nov. 7th, so it should be nice

I have stayed there and it is fine. I am getting married at East Wind, so we have 12 rooms at East Wind, 20 at the Best Western, and after Nov. we are booking at the Holiday Inn. Call now they are booking quickly.

I also stopped in and checked out the lobby. Anyone care to let me know the guest rate for blocking rooms.

TIA

Re: Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

room rates depend on the time of the year. Ours is $149 per night. You can also add a shuttle if needed for $175 each if you need more. the shuttle they provided only holds 14 people and only makes one trip.

Re: Best Western East End (In Riverhead) - Your Experience with Them?

i am waiting for the holiday inn to open up before making my decision on which hotel to block rooms at, but the bestwestern does have a nice lobby and the restaurant is decent. i am hoping for lower rates at the holiday inn. ~lacey
