I don't know just how modern you're looking for, but Chateau Briand is often considered modern.

It does depend what you consider Modern, but I too think of Chateau Briand as modern.

I've only seen pictures of The Renaissance on 21st Street in Astoria, but it looks like it has a modern feel.

Re: Modern Wedding Halls/Reception Sites

i've seen in the bride mags that many lofts in the city will rent out, but you have to bring in catering etc...there's also some random art deco style place in massapequa, can't remember the name though

I agree!! I went to a wedding there last week and it was very modern......

I don't think there are any real 'modern' places on LI. She would need to go to the city.....

OK so I just fell in love with the Tribeca Rooftop and will be paying them a visit soon. I hope they're not too much over my budget.

I agree with what Anita said - you want modern - stay out of Long Island. Most (90%) of the sites in NYC are modern.

ETA: tell her to go onto the knot.com - they have listings of what she's looking for.

Tell her about Stone Caterers, they cater to locations like Nassau Museum of Art, etc

I forgot what caterer does events at EAB plaza, Brookyln Botanical Gardens.
