Girls...would it annoy you if...

there's a bride on here who FMs me a lot....asking advice about her wedding b/c she's getting married where I did. I always write her back with thought out, from-the-heart advice, and I NEVER get a thank you FM! What I do get are more questions. I want to say, Um...manners? A thank you? Am I wrong! I don't want to start drama if she reads this but come on, man!

I wonder if at the bottom of one of your FM's you write - your welcome and see if you get one then. If not, I would say something.

i would advise her that there are a ton of resources here. if she picked a hall, she has a banquet manager that can answer most if not all of her questions. everything else would be a personal question.

there is probally a master thread of people about your hall which she could probally do a search for.

i can understand you don't want to be rude, but some people on this site don't know how to use the search button effectively. while not the best search, it does do a good job

I hear you guys...and I'm so not like that. The first 2 times, I let it slide, knowing she's probably so busy....but my last FM was really quite helpful! (I should post it...LOL) and when I got nothing I thought...humph. Now that was rude, sweetie pie.

this has happened to me serveral times. and i say whatever... if they dont have the time to write thank you or TY, they have some other issues and would probally be the last time i respond

Happened to me over on LIF. Wrote out this LONG DRAWN OUT FM in response to someone's question and got NO response.

Oh, and on LIF there are threads every other day about this - 'I helped so and so and they never wrote back to thank me!' I tend to note that the offender *never* posts on those threads.

Yes, it would annoy me...I know you don't help looking for a 'thank you' but it can't hurt. Especially after repetitive FM's. I had someone like that - I just stopped responding. Plus she was really rude anyway...

ets: not to hijack, but I also get mad when I reply to a thread and someone comes on and demands that I give more information to back up what I previously stated. I feel like saying 'I DO NOT WORK FOR YOU. If you don't think I am correct, then YOU do some research and prove me wrong'

Honestly, if it started to annoy me, I would probably just stop answering the FMs.

I definitely would be annoyed. It is only common courtesy to say Thank You. I would definitely call her out on it.

Exactly.

Thats why I didnt post my reception hall in my profile for the longest time. I would write the longest responses and get nothing back. Its very frustrating and unfortunately a few people ruined it for the future brides with questions who actually do have manners. Because I do not respond anymore.

Yes it would and does annoy me. Especially if someone FM's you 1000 times asking the same thing over and over (they want more detail) Not to hijack but once someone emailed a question and then a few days later again. She forgot that she had already FMed me!

Sometimes I think people overlook others kindness bc they are so busy or dont remember. I would either stop writing like others said or I like the other idea about writing 'Your welcome' at the bottom of your notes. I think u have to consider if this is someone u plan to continue talking to or just a quick email buddy. I am sure its not an intentional lack of respect even though it seems that way at times. Do what u think is best.

It's inconsiderate to not just type out two words of appreciation and yes, I would also be annoyed.

And I agree with what someone else said - I would just add a 'oh and btw, you're welcome' at the end of your FM and see if she gets the hint.

Yes! I had that too. I helped this girl out with florist info and wrote really presonal stuff and I did not even get a reply.
