I did the same thing. If you ask your priest they will tell you the right time to do it also.

we didn't do it ( cause i didn't hear of it until AFTER our wedding
)BUT... i think it makes more sense to do it right after the vows and rings.... becasue its like saying ' now that you're husband and wife officially, these are the hands... blah blah....'
good luck! i soo wish we did this at ours!

Re: Girls who did/or are doing 'Hands Ceremony'...Need quick help!!
Our priest did it at the very end of the mass, as part of the final blessing. I think it worked really well there. The vows take a little while and are right after the homily, so there was already a lot of talking at that part of the ceremony. IMO, having it at the end refocused people and I think they really paid attention and heard the words because at the CH, many guests asked me where I had gotten that from.

Will some one explaine what this is????????????????????????????
It is a poem that the officiant reads. It goes like this :
These are the hands of your best friend. Young, strong, and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.
These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and that with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief wracks your mind
These are the hands that will, countless times, wipe the tears from your eyes. Tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children.
These are the hands that will help you hold your family as one.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch
