Re: Maui Four Seasons & Kauai Hyatt

We booked both of these hotels. I don't have itemized pricing, b/c our hm package came in all together. But we're staying at the Maui 4 Seasons-Ocean View Room for 4 nights, and at the Kauai Hyatt for 4 nights in a partial ocean view room...we are also staying on the Big Island for 4 nights.

Including all of our airfare and car rentals our HM is costing us close to $10k....sigh....

We missed out on deals at the hotels b/c a lot of places will give you the 5th night free. We decided we wanted to see as much as possible while there.

I have a ton of friends who have stayed at both hotels on their honeymoons and they RAVE about both, they promise we won't be disappointed.

Good luck! I'll share anymore info I get with you all.

Re: Maui Four Seasons & Kauai Hyatt

The Hyatt Kuai was awesome - I can't say enough good things
The Four Seasons in Maui was a HUGE disappointment. The rooms were beautiful, the bathroom was bigger than my NYC apartment, and the BED was to DIE for .......but the grounds were ......less than impressive. The pool was TEENY TINY (and PACKED w/ obnoxious Mommies shoving their more obnoxious kids toward the equally obnoxious Nannies.....) and the beach was also extremely small. - The restaraunts were Ok ......nothing to brag about. - We were very disappointed w/ the Maui Hotel
- The Hyatt in Kuai is absolutely beautiful - eat @ 'Tidepools' b/c the food is excellent - and hit the spa.........amazing !!!

Re: Maui Four Seasons & Kauai Hyatt

I second the HUGE dissappointment with the Four Seasons in Maui. Our bed was awful - I slept on the FLOOR some nights. I wrote a review on this boad so search my name and you will find it.

I LOVED the hotel Hanna Maui and the Marriot Lihui in Kaui.

Re: Maui Four Seasons & Kauai Hyatt

I had a completely different experience than the above posters with the Four Seasons. DH & I absolutely loved it. The service was amazing, especially at the pool. We stayed there 5 nights and I rarely saw any kids the whole time. The beach was really nice. Our room was gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable, I never wanted to get up everyday! We met lots of nice honeymooners there who were also very happy. After we left there we went to Kauai & stayed at the Princeville. It was not nearly as nice. We were so spoiled by the Four Seasons. We wanted to go back.

Re: Maui Four Seasons & Kauai Hyatt

We stayed at the Kauai Hyatt, and it was amazing. We went to Kauai, Ohau and Maui. We always say that the Kauai Hyatt was the most beautiful for the grounds....they have an amazing pool, and then a salt water lagoon. Tidepools resturant is awsome...(as is the Beach House, which is off the Hyatt grounds, but an awsome resturant to try). We also stayed at the Halekulani in Ohau, which we think had the best service of the 3 hotels, and then we stayed at the Fairmont in Maui, which was the best for the rooms since they are all suites. The Fairmont also has an adult only pool which is a plus. We only went to the 4 Seasons for dinner at Spago, so I cant help out with the 4 seasons for more than that.. I hope I was some help to you!

Re: Maui Four Seasons & Kauai Hyatt

Thanks for the info! Glad to hear that everyone enjoyed their stays at one of the 2 hotels. I'm going with the attitude that you can't have a bad time in Hawaii.

We just added Oahu onto our schedule. We're not doing as high end resort in Oahu since we're only there to sight see for 2.5 days. Any feedback on that?

Well, you'd have to fly between the islands, and you can definitely do it for a day...the charters between islands are about $100 or so. Why not spend a few days there in stead of just one?

Re: Maui Four Seasons & Kauai Hyatt

The Kauai Hyatt is supposed to be the most amazing Hyatt in the world. The same is true of the Four Seasons on the big island, and I have heard the Maui Four Seasons is nice, but a bit of a disappointment (still good, but not amazing, but great service though), but I haven't been yet so who knows. We're going to the big island and Maui and are staying at the 4 Seasons on the big island, and the Sheraton on Maui. We were deciding between the Sheraton and the Fairmont (esp. since we heard we'd be disappointed with the 4 Seasons on Maui after staying at the one on the big island), and our travel agent said the beach the Sheraton's on is a great location and gorgeous - it's Kaanapali? something like that. The Maui Hyatt's on that beach too - but the Kauai Hyatt is supposed to be so much more amazing than the Maui one, so if you're staying at that one, you might not want the Maui Hyatt.
