RP from BHB: Jewish/Interfaith Brides- I need your Help!

I know I am an 05 bride, and I am getting married in 9 days, but I'm still working on my ceremony! I have a question for all the Interfaith/Jewish Brides out there- what, if any, readings are you having during your ceremony? FH's mother is a non-practicing jew, althougth she was very religious when she was younger. FH and I would like to incorporate the jewish ceremony into our ceremony. We already have the breaking of the glass, and someone is going to read something about this tradition right before FH breaks the glass- but I wanted to know if there was a reading that we could have someone else do too. Anyone have any suggestions?

Jewish weddings do not typically have readings. Though my brothers wedding was an interfaith wedding and my sister inlaw had me and my sister read from the OLD testament while her family read fromt he NEW. I read the part where Eve came from Adam's rib. It was lovely. We are also hoping to have FH's sisters read the 7 marriage blessings in Hebrew and English.

You are wondeful- thank you for answering me. Origianlly thats what I was going to do- have an old testament reading, and a new testament ready......but What are the 7 marriage blessings? Where can I get a copy of them? Maybe we can have them read instead of the Old Testament reading?

Re: RP from BHB: Jewish/Interfaith Brides- I need your Help!

All Jewish weddings usually have the Sheva Brachot or the seven blessings. If you are using a Rabbi, you could ask him or her what they are. If not, there is a cantor on the boards - evnme. She helped me a lot. I would give her an FM.
