Are you the only one at your office that's engaged and having a 'big wedding'?

There are a few girls engaged at my office but I'm the only one having a big wedding. All the other girls have been engaged for years and are planning civil ceremonies at their town halls. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for spending so much money. Thank God for these boards! No one at work can help me with planning. They keep saying I'm 'all about the wedding these days'. Anyone else have this problem?

For the most part all of the girls that were engaged got married this past summer, so I am the only one left who still has to get hitched!! I try to keep the wedding talk to a minimum so that I dont drive people crazy!!

I'm the only one engaged in my office! Everyone else is either divorced, married or dating.

Yes, I am the only one.

There is another girl who is close to being engaged so she gets as excited as I do about wedding stuff.

Otherwise, I have to contain myself all day and not bother the people I work with about wedding stuff.

There are two guys around my age that are engaged. Everyone else is older and married/single.

There is some 'competition' with one of my coworkers as we compare things but i'm pretty much the only girl planning a wedding right now.

oh, don't worry...we are all...'all about the wedding' lately!!!!
We should be..it is a great time in our lives!!!!

Ok, I am the only person under the age of 40 at my job.... i work with mainly either very happy married women or bitter divored hags.... What can you do.....

It is funny 4 people (including me) on my team got engaged since June. I guess love is in the air...

I'm the only person in my office that is engaged. In fact, the last wedding of any employee was 10 years ago!

I'm the only one engaged and sometimes there are comments on how expensive weddings are these days, I just laugh it off and say tell me about it

I'm the only one currently engaged, although we have had a bunch of weddings and babies in the last few years. I guess that's what happens when they hire a bunch of young women

Well at my new job! I wish I never quit my old one at my old job everyone is getting married and having a big wedding. There are also 2 others besides mine in 2006 from my old office.

I work with a bunch of catty older women who are married and have nothing better to do with their lives than gossip and b*tch and complain. I'm the only one in the 20s..everyone else is over 30. And there are a lot of dudes here too, its sad I get along so much better with them, and we talk about wedding stuff!

I am in the same situation, except there are no guys here. I feel like noone is happy for me and I try to keep my wedding talk to a minimum which is not a good feeling. They are all so miserable. I love this board because everyone is so excited!!

Awww its ok..same for me...my family isn't excited and his parents..while they are very involved..aren't as energetic about all of this as i am..but yeah its definitely a good thing we have this board!

I am the only girl and the only one getting married!! It is really funny because I talk about it so much that one of the guys has started to really get into it!! He even checks LIW sometimes!!

I am the only engaged person in my office and I work in Los Angeles. The girls who were recently married all did a beach thing. The cannot comprehend why anyone would spend more than $10k on a wedding.
So I only discuss the wedding when people ask about it.

i work in my family's office...only 2 employees...lol so i'm the only one engaged. BUT i have GF's that have been 'engaged' to their 'baby's daddies' for like 4 or 5 yrs. and who will probably never tie the knot. So when FH and I talk about our wedding and they ask about costs, they freak out.

FH is in NYPD academy right now and a lot of the guys there are all like 'Don't get married! Marriage *****!' LOL So we're used to hearing about it since just about all of our friends are living together with no plans to marry anytime soon.
