Gown shopping advice needed!
I am going gown shopping next Monday! Where did everyone look/buy? I'm specifically interested in the Diamond collection - so if anyone knows of the salons in the area that carry those, I'd love to hear from you. Also, do most salons require appointments far in advance? Thanks!

Most salons require extremely long lead time on appointments (many times over one month in advance). Call as soon as possible.

Appointments are generally required, weekends book up early. I found evening appointments an weekday worked best. I remember a lot of Daimond Collection gowns in Macy's Manhasset. You can sort of look with out an appointment if you dont want to try anyting on since everyting is out on racks in garment bags. Happy Shopping

Gown shopping advice needed! I ordered my diamond collection dress at........!
RK bridal in the city...the one on 39th street. They were incredibly helpful and the dress came in three weeks!! (my wedding is not till October!) Also last week I went to order my veil, and they called today saying that it is in already! They are incredibly fast! I found the staff to be incredibly helpful, but other brides have not. I would recommend going on a day other than Saturday (if going on Saturday, go really early), because it gets really crazy!! If you have any questions, let me know! Good luck!

What, Make appt one month ahead?
is this true? i know you have to make an appointment to view gowns, but 1 month ahead for some salons? isn`t that a little absurd? can you let me know what salons require this advance booking. thanks!

What, Make appt one month ahead?
I know that for Saks bridal salon and Vera Wang you need to make an appointment two-three months ahead!

Depends where you go...yes, klienfelds is months in advance but the smaller boutique stores I was able to get appts a week or even a few days before (I shopped on weekdays). Also, try calling day before for cancellations. RK is affordable but very much a warehouse...check their site and go in with a bunch of style numbers. I've been to some places in Suffolk as well and I liked Bridal Suites in centereach best

i think the only salon i that didnt take appts was R K Bridale, otherwise yes, every salon is by appt. you may luck out here and there with the smaller places but anything that is a more popular store or in the city i'd call ahead cause in most cases it can be up to a month wait.

A lot of salons have walk in times during the week. Weekends you typically need an appointment. I went to Bridal Elegance in Huntington, they are super nice, no pressure, and helpful. Plus my dress came in super early like 6 weeks after my order. Good luck! You can also check out the Bridal Garden in NYC - It's a nonprofit that offers high end dresses at affordable prices. I did hear though that the sizes are pretty small because most of the dresses come directly from runway shows. Good luck :)Welcome New Vendors
